	We have finally located a brand of keratin treatment that does not contain formaldehyde and for which the Manufacturer's Safety Data Sheet does not state that respiratory protection is required. We will be training for this service during the month and expect to be able to offer it to you by October! Our very own hairstylist Richard has just wed his wonderful long-time partner Adam in a small ceremony on Cape Cod! Congratulations! 	When the heat is on inside our buildings, we may be warm but the moisture is being pulled out of the air. Outside too the air lacks moisture. Our hair, our skin, and our nails are drying out! Michelle's Baby Shower a paper mache baby bottle	Our hairstylist Sophie gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, Alex, on July 22! Our nail technician, Michelle, has begun her maternity leave a little sooner than expected. But don't despair: we have Robin! She is very capable and friendly, and here for you (especially French style manicures and pedicures) Monday through Saturday. Our hairstylist Katie is returning part-time this month after her maternity leave. Thursday August 6 is 1st Thursday again from 6-8pm. We will be showing the color photographs of artist Carol Krauss. For Back-to-School we are putting all products larger than 16oz on sale for 25% off. Remember that we also have hairbrushes and travel size blowdryers and flatirons. We've been getting some requests for the new Keratin Straightening Treatment but we are unable to offer it at this time. This is because there are truly no formulas that we have found that are totally safe. Many products that are marketed as 'formaldehyde-free' still contain formalin. This chemical is non-toxic on its own, however, when it is heated with a flat iron as it is for the treatment, the formalin releases formaldehyde gas. The experts in the salon industry are advising that both the person doing the treatment and the client getting the treatment wear gas masks during this service! 	Our own Katie gave birth today to her daughter. Allie entered the world at 12:55am, weighing 7lbs ,14oz and measuring 20 inches. Both mother and baby are healthy, and beautiful!

	It's true! Fresh Hair opened on July 15, 1982. Come take a walk with us down memory lane - stop by to view our photo retrospective. Maybe youll see yourself or recognize an old friend! Another reason to celebrate is that all retail is 25% OFF all July! Thats right: every item we carry for hair, skin, and nails is on sale. Earrings, too! The staff has selected their own personal favorite products. Maybe youll agree with them, maybe you wont, maybe youre looking for advice, whatever: come read their reasons why. We will be closed on Wednesday July 4, reopening at noon on Thursday July 5th. 	All of our products that contain sunscreens (shampoos, conditioners, styling aids, and skin care with an SPF of either 15 or 30) are 20% off this month. And because you may really want to look tan, we are offering coupons for 20% off spray tanning: buy them this month and you can use them through September. All it takes is about 15 minutes and a few hours later - voila, tan! We were also featured in the May issue of Allure Magazine (page 161) for our safe, inexpensive, and natural looking spray tans. We now offer sugaring in addition to waxing. This is a completely non-toxic paste of sugar and lemon juice that is used just like wax, but it never burns you because it doesnt need to be heated as high, you dont have to wait for the hair to grow out as much because it doesnt have to be as long as it does for waxing (one eighth vs one quarter inch), and the clean-up is done with warm water only! Unfortunately, we have to admit that pulling out the hair is going to hurt no matter what, but at least you can be assured that this time itll be sweet! There has been some bad press recently about the toxic chemicals found in many nail polishes. We have checked it out and are happy to report that OPI, the brand of nail polishes that we sell, have been reformulating their stock for over a year. 4/1/07	Springtime happens
	Joy will be "off the floor" until May due to some long overdue foot surgery. Richard will be out on medical leave until mid-May. Tina returns from maternity leave on April 12! 2/1/07	New Faces and Old Staff Changes
	Debbies back from her second maternity leave. Shes in one Saturday a month with plans to add time in April. Mel is back at Fresh Hair after realizing the grass elsewhere is not always greener. She is behind the chair weekday afternoons and evenings. Tina gave birth to Andrew at the end of January and is extremely happy! She plans to return to work part-time in April. Anette is a new esthetician currently working some of Tinas hours. She is here part-time through March. Linda has returned from her annual winter sojourn, and is currently working three days a week. Silvana is a new nail technician covering the hours around Michelles schedule. After training her, Silvana was so good that Michelle finally got a pedicure! Michelle can now do hair extensions (the glue-in kind) on Wednesdays. It takes about an hour for $60. You have to bring your own hair extensions. A consultation beforehand is preferable but not absolutely necessary. Shauron is our new hairstylist, bringing his downtown skills and professional attitude to our corner of the world.

	Babies babies everywhere!
	Congratulations to Mary who had a baby boy in August and Debbie who had a baby girl in September! Tina will be giving birth in January. She plans to be here until the middle of January and return part time by March.
	Price Increases & Honors
	We will be increasing some prices as of January 2007. We haven't had a price increase since 12/03. But we promise it will be worth every penny. Fresh Hair was once again awarded the JP Gazette's award for Best Personal Service 2006. Periodic price increases are necessary for us to continue to offer the highest quality and most up-to-date services in a warm, comfortable environment. 7/15/06	Doors Closing and Opening Staff changes within
	This past month has seen three of our hairstylists move on to new jobs. Mary left to be a mommy! Ron has taken his skills to the bright lights downtown. Mel is concentrating on getting into photo work. As we say goodbye to old faces, we say hello to two new ones as well. Welcome Jennifer and Sophie to the Fresh Hair family! They both come with experience and highly recommended. We look forward to you discovering their talents.

9/23/05	Henna Sue is back! Temporary tattoos now available every month
	After an extended absence, Henna Sue will now resume her regular appearances. She will be doing henna tattoos on the first Saturday of every month 10 am - 12 noon. Prices range from $10 - $25, depending on the size of the design. It takes about 15 minutes to apply the henna and the tattoo lasts for approximately 2 weeks. Call for an appointment or just stop by!

8/23/05	STREEEEEEETCH! Staff becomes yogis
	The staff at Fresh Hair loves their jobs, but standing and cutting hair all day can be exhausting. To help combat aches and fatigue, yoga instructor Carol Nelson conducted a special workshop at the salon for the staff. She demonstrated some simple stretches and poses that the staff can do while at work. So don't be surprised if you see someone in downward dog or tree pose!

	Debbie and her husband Tom welcomed their new baby boy, Brendan, on July 6.. Everyone is healthy and happy. Debbie returns to work on September 19 on a part-time basis.

12/9/04	Fresh Hair is Expanding!
Joy breaks through the wall to the addition.	After much anticipation, we are pleased to announce the opening of Fresh Hair's expansion! Always forward looking, Fresh Hair has taken advantage of recently vacated space to install two new structures and rearrange the salon in a less crowded manner. In the new space, we now have a backwash, an ergonomically correct shampoo sink that makes both the client and the hairdresser more comfortable. The hairdryers have been moved out of the nail care area into this new adjacent room so no one is crowded or waiting. The nail care area will now be able to accommodate a luxurious spa-like chair for the wonderful experience of pedicures.
