Answers to FAQ about art shows at Fresh Hair
The artist is responsible for hanging the show when the salon is not busy. Generally this means weekday mornings, but call for specific times.
We supply the ladder and the hooks to hang the artwork from the ceiling molding. The artist supplies the correct strength fishing line to hold the weight of the artwork. Nothing may be stuck onto or into the walls.
The artist is responsible for removing her/his art upon the date agreed. Shows generally stay up four to six weeks.
The artist provides a bio, descriptions, and a price list on one or two sides of an 8.5×11” paper. Small labels may be necessary to name or number the artwork.
Fresh Hair does not take any commission on sales. The artist can request that we accept any payments for purchases, or leave information so that the artist can be contacted directly.
Art openings happen on Thursday evenings from 6-8pm. The local Centre/South Main Streets organization sponsors ‘1st Thursdays’ art openings (check out jpcentresouth.org for more information). If desired, the artist can provide food and drink like a gallery opening (i.e., snacks, wine, & juice). Fresh Hair will provide all the paper goods such as small plates, napkins, and cups.
