WHY
YOU SHOULD USE SOME CONDITIONER EVERY TIME YOU SHAMPOO AND HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT CONDITIONER FOR YOUR HAIR |
|
In order to understand the
necessity of conditioner for your hair's health and beauty, you first need to
understand the structure of hair. Its really very simple. Hair has two
basic components: protein and water. Protein is what gives your hair its shape
and strength. The water in your hair gives it flexibility and elasticity. Conditioners fall into three basic categories, or combinations of these categories. Protein Reconstructors, Moisturizers, and Keratin Enhancers. Protein reconstructors contain molecules of protein (usually keratin protein) that are small enough to make their way to the cortex of the hair. This is where the proteins help to bolster or repair your own protein molecules that give hair its shape. Moisturizing conditioners add water molecules to the middle layer of the hair. These increase bendability and softness. Keratin enhancers, also known as cream rinses and detanglers, smooth the outside layer of the hair. When this exterior layer lies flat, it reflects light and your hair looks shiny. It also eliminates tangles, therefore making your hair easy to manage. Everyone can use a conditioner each time s/he shampoos. Use of the right conditioner in the correct amount (often just a little dab will do) and in the best way for your hair (for example, whether you leave it on or rinse it off), will avoid a greasy or heavy feeling. Your hair will look better and it will feel healthier. Its such an easy step to take. |
